United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee
United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee is the federal trial court for most of Middle Tennessee. It is based in Nashville at the Fred D. Thompson Federal Building and Courthouse (also known as the Estes Kefauver Building) and has locations in Columbia and Cookeville.

- Northeastern Division: Clay, Cumberland, DeKalb, Fentress, Jackson, Macon, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Smith, White
- Nashville Division: Cannon, Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale, Williamson, Wilson
- Judges and leadership: The court has four judges. Chief Judge William L. Campbell Jr.
- Appeals: Appeals go to the Sixth Circuit, except for patent claims and Tucker Act claims, which go to the Federal Circuit.
