Under the Clock
Under the Clock (Pod Zegarem in Polish) was a Nazi torture site in the center of Lublin, Poland, during World War II. The Gestapo had basement cells there and used them to interrogate Poles. It was in use from 1939 to 1944. A museum, the Museum of the Martyrology of Under the Clock (Muzeum Martyrologii Pod Zegarem), was opened on the site to remember Polish history and the people who died there. The location also appears in James A. Michener's novel Poland.
