Daryl Smith (baseball)
Daryl Clinton Smith (born July 29, 1960) is a former American baseball pitcher. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he batted and threw right-handed. He was drafted by the Texas Rangers in 1980 and spent several years in the minor leagues before reaching the majors.
Smith made his Major League Baseball debut with the Kansas City Royals on September 18, 1990. He pitched in two games for Kansas City that season, finishing with a 0–1 record, a 4.05 ERA, and 6 strikeouts.
After his time in MLB, he continued to play in the minor leagues and later moved to Taiwan to play in the Chinese Professional Baseball League. In 1995 he played for the Jungo Bears, and in 1996 for the Sinon Bulls. His CPBL totals were 4–5 with a 4.97 ERA and 41 strikeouts.
