Twisted Pair

Twisted Pair is a 2018 American independent science fiction psychological thriller written, directed, produced, scored, and edited by Neil Breen. The 89-minute film stars Breen along with Sara Meritt, Siohbun Ebrahimi, Denise Bellini, Marty Dasis, Brad Stein, John Smith Burns, Art MacHenster, Greg Smith Burns, Ada Masters, and Jason Moriglio. The budget was $7,073.

Premise
The story centers on identical twin brothers Cade and Cale Altair, who are abducted as children and transformed into hybrid artificial intelligence agents. As adults, Cade fights to protect humanity while Cale becomes entangled with a powerful, secret organization. The plot weaves themes of virtual reality, espionage, romance, and a battle to stop a looming cyber-terror threat.

Production and release
Funding for the film came from a GoFundMe campaign that raised about $7,073. Principal photography began on September 2, 2017, at Nevada State College. Twisted Pair was produced by Neil Breen Films, LLC. It had its world premiere on October 3, 2018, at the Laemmle Theatre in North Hollywood, California, and was released in the United Kingdom on February 9, 2019.

Reception and legacy
Like Breen’s previous works, Twisted Pair received mostly negative reviews from critics and audiences, but it has developed a small cult following for its distinctive and unconventional style.

Sequel
A sequel, Cade: The Tortured Crossing, premiered on February 25, 2023, at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live. Breen announced that filming for the project had wrapped in December 2022, with a planned early-2023 festival run.
