Royce Ayliffe
David Royce Ayliffe (born 1 January 1956) is a former Australian rugby league player who played as a prop in the 1970s and 1980s. He represented Australia and New South Wales, and captained the Eastern Suburbs club. He also played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Ayliffe's club career began with Eastern Suburbs from 1976 to 1983, making 150 first-grade appearances and scoring 14 tries and 10 goals (67 points). He later played for South Sydney in 1985, adding 11 appearances. In total, he played 161 first-grade games, with 14 tries and 10 goals.
He represented New South Wales in 1982 (three games) and Australia in 1981 (one game).
During 1976, he helped Eastern Suburbs win the unofficial World Club Challenge against St Helens in Sydney. He attended Keira High School in Wollongong and played for the Australian Schoolboys in 1972. After retiring, he served on the NRL Judiciary. On 24 October 2000, Ayliffe received the Australian Sports Medal for his rugby league achievements.
