Hans Peter Schlickewei (born 1947) is a German mathematician who studies number theory and transcendental numbers. He earned his PhD in 1975 at the University of Freiburg under Theodor Schneider and is a professor at the University of Marburg. In 1976 he proved a p-adic generalization of Wolfgang Schmidt's subspace theorem. Schlickewei's theorem relates to the Thue-Siegel-Roth theorem, whose p-adic version was proven by David Ridout in 1958. In 1998 he was an invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Berlin, giving a talk titled The Subspace Theorem and Applications.
