Turn Down the Sound is the fourth studio album by Canadian singer Nikki Yanofsky, released on July 10, 2020. It blends funk, R&B, jazz, pop and hip-hop and runs about 36 minutes. The album was recorded in April 2019 at Warner-Chappell Studios in New York City over two weeks with producers Roger Kleinmen and Zachary Seman.

The lead single "Forget" came out January 30, 2020, with a meme video that premiered on Billboard’s site. The second single "Nerve" was released March 20, 2020 after her Together at Home Instagram Live concert, and the third single "Loner" dropped on May 15, 2020.

The project was originally titled Black Sheep, but Yanofsky changed it back to Turn Down the Sound because she felt it was true to herself, despite some team criticism.

The title track "Turn Down the Sound" and the song "Bubbles" were written with Rod Temperton. "Bubbles" was Temperton’s last work, and he nicknamed Yanofsky "Wobbles," which inspired the song’s name.

Recording happened in two weeks with no days off. The first tracks included "High Note" and "Throwing Stones," the latter recorded with Remy on a Wurlitzer. Promo shows in Montreal and Toronto were moved to fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On July 6, Yanofsky performed "Loner" on The Morning Show Canada to support the release.

The album had a modest first-week showing, ranking as the 34th best-selling album across all digital platforms according to Exclaim! Magazine.
