Trent Tomlinson
Trent Tomlinson is an American country singer and songwriter, born on July 3, 1975, in Blytheville, Arkansas, and raised in Kennett, Missouri. His father was a college basketball star and later a coach.
In high school, Trent finished second on You Can Be a Star, a talent show on The Nashville Network. After several near misses with record deals, he signed with Lyric Street Records in 2005. His debut album, Country Is My Rock, came out in early 2006 and produced three Top 40 country singles: Drunker Than Me, One Wing in the Fire, and Just Might Have Her Radio On. He released more singles in 2009.
As a writer, Tomlinson contributed songs to others’ albums, including Missing Missouri for Sara Evans and Why Can’t I Leave Her Alone for George Strait. He also recorded material for Lyric Street.
In December 2008, he became the second artist signed to Carolwood Records, Lyric Street’s subsidiary. His fourth single, That’s How It Still Oughta Be, appeared on the charts in January 2009 but faded by May. It was followed by Henry Cartwright’s Produce Stand. A third single, Angels Like Her (a re-recording from his debut), was released in October 2009, shortly before Carolwood closed. He then returned to Lyric Street and left in March 2010. Three songs were later included on the EP A Guy Like Me.
Tomlinson released Man Without a Woman in 2011 on Skyville Records, but no album followed. In 2014, Parmalee released Close Your Eyes, a song he co-wrote. He also co-wrote In Case You Didn’t Know, a hit released in 2017.
On the personal side, he married Jessica Lowman on March 22, 2008, and they have a daughter, Harleigh Alexyia, born January 14, 2008. Trent Tomlinson and Lowman later divorced.
