Topuzlu Dam
Topuzlu Dam, also known as Topuzlu Bent, is a historic masonry gravity dam in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul, Turkey. It was built in 1750 under Ottoman Sultan Mahmud I, and its crest was raised about 3.4 meters in 1786 by Abdul Hamid I. The name "Topuzlu" means "bulged," referring to a bulge in the upstream wall. The dam sits just north of Bahçeköy in Bentler Nature Park, part of the Belgrad Forest. It dams Eskibağlar Creek and has a catchment area of 0.92 square kilometers.
