Alba Rojo Cama
Alba Teresa Rojo Cama (28 April 1961 – 16 August 2016) was a Mexican sculptor known for geometric works. She was born in Mexico City, the daughter of artist Vicente Rojo Almazán and editor Alba Cama de Rojo. Both parents were from Barcelona and fled to Mexico during the Spanish Civil War. After finishing high school at Colegio Madrid, she studied mathematics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico from 1981 to 1986, then worked there as a science communicator before turning to sculpture in the late 1980s. She died in 2016 after a three-year battle with cancer. Her work includes geometric sculptures, and in 2016 she produced a calendar that combined photos of her artworks with mathematical challenges.
