Tinkham Mountain is a peak in Glacier National Park, Montana, in the Lewis Range. It rises to 8,447 feet (2,575 meters) and has a prominence of about 1,082 feet (330 meters). The mountain is located in Flathead County, Montana. The easiest route is a Class 3 climb. The east face can be seen from Cutbank Pass, where scars from the 2015 Thompson Fire are visible. The name honors Lieutenant Abiel W. Tinkham, who was the first white person to cross the Continental Divide in the area that would become Glacier National Park; the name was officially adopted in 1929.
