The Psychoanalytic Study of the Child

The Psychoanalytic Study of the Child is an annual scholarly journal about child psychiatry and psychoanalysis. It is published in English by Taylor & Francis and has been in existence since 1945. The journal was founded by Anna Freud, Heinz Hartmann, and Ernst Kris, and at one time was published by Yale University Press. Over the years it has included many notable editors and contributors, such as Ruth Selke Eissler, Albert J. Solnit, and Anna Freud. The publication has also produced anthologies, including Psychoanalytic Assessment: The Diagnostic Profile. An Anthology of the Psychoanalytic Study of the Child (1977) and Physical Illness and Handicap in Childhood. An Anthology of The Psychoanalytic Study of the Child (1977). The journal continues to release annual volumes, with the 2008 issue corresponding to volume 63.
