Latin Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Album
The Latin Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Album was awarded every year from 2001 to 2011 at the Latin Grammy Awards. It honored a female pop artist for an album containing at least 51% new recordings. The category started in 2000 as Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (for singles) and became Best Female Pop Vocal Album from 2001 onward. Winners came from many countries, including the United States, Colombia, Canada, Italy, Puerto Rico, and Spain. Notable winners include Christina Aguilera for Mi Reflejo (2001); Shakira for Fijación Oral Vol. 1 (2006) and Sale el Sol (2011). The 2001 winners were announced at a press conference because the 2nd Latin Grammy Awards were scheduled for September 11, 2001. The award was last given in 2011.
