The Battle of Bouvines is an 1827 history painting by French artist Horace Vernet. It is oil on canvas, measuring 510 cm by 958 cm, and is located in the Galerie des Batailles at the Palace of Versailles. The painting shows Philip II of France just before the Battle of Bouvines in 1214, a French victory that led to the Truce of Chinon ending the Anglo-French War. It was commissioned by Charles X and first shown at the Paris Salon in 1827, later becoming part of Versailles.
