Ternovka (tributary of Karachan)
Ternovka is a small river in Russia’s Voronezh Oblast. It is about 24 kilometers long and drains a basin of around 154 square kilometers. The river starts from dammed creeks near the village of Dubovitskoe, forming Dubovitsky Pond and the 2nd Dubovitsky Pond. Near Ternovka village, these creeks create several ponds: Novy Prud, Pyatnadsaty Prud (the 15th Pond), and Sadovsky Prud. The Ternovka flows into the Karachan river on its right bank, about 58 kilometers from Karachan’s mouth, south of the village Alyoshki. The source is roughly 155 meters above sea level, and the river dries up in its upper reaches. It belongs to the Don river basin, within the Khoper sub-basin of the Don system.
