Ted Baker (footballer)
Edward Richard "Ted" Baker (21 January 1901 – 22 July 1986) was an Australian rules footballer in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Born in Maryborough, Victoria, he moved to Wonthaggi at age ten. A rover, he played for four VFL clubs: Carlton (1920), Collingwood (1922–23, 1932), Geelong (1927–32), and Footscray (1934). He played a total of 142 games and kicked 139 goals, and he represented Victoria in eight interstate matches, scoring one goal. Baker’s career highlight was captaining Geelong to the 1931 VFL premiership. He was 165 cm tall and weighed 68 kg. Baker died in Oakleigh South, Victoria, in 1986.
