Tectus mauritianus, commonly known as the Mauritius top shell, is a sea snail found in the Indian Ocean near Madagascar. The sturdy, cone-shaped shell is about 4–6 cm tall and 4–5.5 cm wide. It’s marbled with green, brown and pink on a pale background. The shell has 10–12 whorls with small raised bumps near the edges and along the outer part of the shell. The base is flat and pale with fine, smooth ridges. The opening is wide, and the inner walls have distinct ridges. Inside, the central column (columella) has a strong fold. There can be variation in shell sculpture among individuals. This species lives in the Indian Ocean and off Madagascar.
