Juju Stories
Juju Stories is a Nigerian three‑part anthology about juju, or magical beliefs, set in modern Lagos. Three directors—C. J. Obasi, Abba Makama, and Michael Omonua—tell three different tales: Love Potion, Yam, and Suffer the Witch.
The film runs 84 minutes and is in English. Its cast includes Belinda Agedah Yanga, Paul Utomi, Elvis Poko, Don Ekwuazi, Nengi Adoki, Bukola Oladipupo, and Timini Egbuson. It was produced by Oge Obasi, with cinematography by Femi Awojide and music by Philippe Razol.
Juju Stories premiered at the Locarno Film Festival in 2021, where it won the Boccalino d'Oro for best film. It was scheduled for release in 12 countries on 31 October 2021 and opened in Nigerian cinemas on 21 January 2022. The film has been listed as one of the best African films of 2022.
