Technology aware design
Technology Aware Design (TAD) is a research program started in 2001 at IMEC in Leuven, Belgium. It questions the old idea that technology development and circuit design can grow separately. In the past, the link between the two was mainly through standard cells or SPICE transistor models. As devices continue to scale, new problems arise that require both sides to understand each other. TAD analyzes these scaling-induced issues and develops practical solutions.
