Tanith Maxwell
Tanith Maxwell (born 2 June 1976 in Durban, South Africa) is a South African long-distance runner who competes in events from 10 km to the marathon. She represented South Africa at the Commonwealth Games in 2006, the All Africa Games in 2007, and the World Championships in 2007, 2009, and 2010, as well as the 2012 Olympic Games in London, where she ran the marathon. Maxwell has raced across Europe since 2004, with notable results including 2nd place at the 2004 Edinburgh Marathon, 1st at the 2005 South Africa Half Marathon, and 1st at the 2006 Norton Radstock Half Marathon. She has also had strong showings at major city marathons, such as 15th at the 2010 London Marathon and 13th at the 2012 Rotterdam Marathon. Her sponsors have included Boxer Superstores, Adidas, Virgin Active, and PeptoPro.
