Tales of Kidd Funkadelic
Tales of Kidd Funkadelic is the eighth studio album by Funkadelic, released on September 21, 1976. It was their last album on Westbound Records. The songs were recorded during the same sessions as Hardcore Jollies, their first album for Warner Bros. Records, which came out about a month later.
Two tracks from the album, “Undisco Kidd” and the party song “Take Your Dead Ass Home!”, became favorites in the band's live shows and appear on the 1977 concert album Live: P-Funk Earth Tour. The opener “Butt-To-Buttresuscitation” and the song “I’m Never Gonna Tell It” were also played live into the early 2000s.
Let’s Take It to the People was later sampled by A Tribe Called Quest on their song Everything Is Fair from The Low End Theory.
Kidd Funkadelic was—the nickname for—guitarist Michael Hampton.
