Troublemaker (Arashi song)
Troublemaker is a 2010 pop single by the Japanese boy band Arashi, from their album Boku no Miteiru Fūkei. It was released on March 3, 2010 by J Storm and served as the theme song for the drama Tokujo Kabachi!! starring Sho Sakurai.
The single came in two editions: a regular edition with two B-sides, “Yurase, Ima o” and “Mō Ippo,” plus instrumental versions of all songs; and a limited edition with the B-side “Yurase, Ima o” and a DVD. The B-side “Yurase, Ima o” (Shake It Now) was also used as the theme for NTV’s 2010 Winter Olympics news coverage.
In January 2010, Arashi announced that “Troublemaker” would be the theme song for Sakurai’s drama. On its release day, the single debuted at No. 1 on the Oricon daily singles chart (about 232,000 copies) and at No. 1 on the weekly chart (about 542,000 copies). This made Arashi the first group since B’z in 2001 to have weekly sales over 500,000 for two consecutive years. By the end of 2010, it had sold 688,194 copies and ranked as the third best-selling single of the year in Japan.
Arashi performed “Troublemaker” and “Yurase, Ima o” on Music Station’s 1000th Episode Special on February 12, 2010, though Sakurai could not attend due to Olympic duties in Vancouver. After his Olympic work, he joined the group for a live performance on March 5, 2010.
