Suzzanna: Bernapas dalam Kubur (Suzzanna: Buried Alive) is a 2018 Indonesian horror movie directed by Rocky Soraya and Anggy Umbara. It was written by Bene Dion Rajagukguk and stars Luna Maya, Herjunot Ali, and Teuku Rifnu Wikana. The film is a remake of the 1981 Sundelbolong and honors Indonesian horror star Suzzanna. It was released on Netflix on November 15, 2018.

Plot:
In 1989, Satria and his wife Suzzanna are about to have their first child. Some workers plan to rob their house. Suzzanna confronts them, but she is accidentally killed and buried alive by the robbers, who think she’s dead. She wakes up as a sundel bolong, a vengeful spirit, and begins to stalk her killers.

Satria returns home and starts to suspect something is wrong with Suzzanna. The killers—Umar, Jonal, Dudun, and Gino—seek help from a witch doctor named Mbah Turu. He says a sundel bolong can’t directly kill people, but can influence them to harm each other. Suzzanna haunts Jonal and other killers, causing a dangerous chain of events.

The group plans to trap Suzzanna by destroying her house and killing Satria, who keeps Suzzanna tied to the living world. They burn the house and try to kill Suzzanna with a kris. Jonal tries to kill Satria, but Satria realizes the truth and frees Suzzanna. In the fight, Umar is killed and Satria is badly wounded. Suzzanna makes Turu kill himself and buries Jonal alive.

With her link to the living world broken, Suzzanna dies in Satria’s arms. Satria also dies from his wounds, and the couple is said to reunite in the afterlife.
