SuperValu Pharmacies
SuperValu Pharmacies, Inc. is the pharmacy arm of SuperValu, a grocery retailer based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of SuperValu and is headquartered in Franklin Park, Illinois. Founded in 1985, the company operates about 950 pharmacies inside Shop 'n Save, Hornbacher's, Farm Fresh Food & Pharmacy, and Cub Foods stores.
SuperValu Pharmacies rolled out an in-house pharmacy management system called ARx in 2008, with development starting in 2004. By 2012, it operated in 25 states under about 10 brands. The company says that all leaders are pharmacists. Chris Dimos was the president in 2009. In 2012, Anthony Provenzano served as director of clinical programs and was named to the board of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education on an interim basis.
