Suite for Susan Moore and Damion: We Are One, One, All in One
Suite for Susan Moore and Damion: We Are One, One, All in One is a 1969 folk studio album by Tim Hardin and his first release for Columbia Records. Produced by Gary Klein, it runs about 42 minutes and reached No. 129 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart.
Hardin was sent to Nashville to record a debut for Columbia, but the material wasn’t acceptable and was left unreleased until 1996, when it appeared on Simple Songs of Freedom: The Tim Hardin Collection. He then began a new project that mixed few conventional songs with impromptu blues jams and spoken-word pieces, created as a tribute to his wife Susan Moore and their son Damion. The tracks were recorded at Hardin’s home in Woodstock, New York.
In a reissue that included Bird on a Wire, AllMusic’s Bruce Eder notes the album contains a lot of pain but also moments of strong lyrical and musical quality. All songs are written by Tim Hardin.
