Statue of George Grey, Cape Town
A statue of Sir George Grey stands in Cape Town’s Company’s Garden, near the National Library of South Africa. The inscription reads: “Sir George Grey K.C.B. Governor 1854–1861.” Grey left his personal library, the Grey Collection, to the library. The sculpture was created by William Calder Marshall of London in 1863.
