Halohasta (often abbreviated Hht.) is a genus of salt-loving archaea in the family Halorubraceae. It belongs to Domain Archaea, within the kingdom Methanobacteriati, phylum Methanobacteriota, class Halobacteria, and order Haloferacales. The genus was described by Mou and colleagues in 2013, with Halohasta litorea as the type species. Recognized species include H. litorea, H. litchfieldiae, and H. salina (described by Cheng et al. in 2023). The accepted taxonomy follows the List of Prokaryotic Names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN) and NCBI.
