Carl Venne (July 20, 1946 – February 15, 2009) was the chairman of the Crow Tribe of Montana. His Crow name was Aashiise Dakatak Baacheitchish. He won a special election in November 2002 after the resignation of Chairman Clifford Birdinground and was sworn in on November 12, 2002. He served as tribal chairman until his death on February 15, 2009, at age 62. He was born in Helena, Montana, and died in Hardin, Montana. Venne served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and had two daughters and one son. He also worked with the Montana Meth Project and served on the Advisory Council of the Montana Department of Corrections.
