St Leonards railway station is a suburban stop on Sydney’s North Shore line, serving the St Leonards area and nearby industrial zones. It sits about 8.4 km from Central Station and at roughly 90 metres above sea level. The station has two platforms and two tracks, and is electrified. It is owned by Transport Asset Management NSW and operated by Sydney Trains.

History in brief
- Opened on 1 January 1890 as the end point of the North Shore line from Hornsby.
- The line was extended to Milsons Point in 1893.
- In August 1989, the station moved to a temporary site south of the Pacific Highway for redevelopment.
- The rebuilt station opened in February 2000 as part of the Forum shopping plaza development. The layout was designed to allow extra lines in the future, a plan that was never completed.

What you’ll find at the station
- There is an unwired siding linked to the up track. It is 205 metres long (168 metres usable) and can hold an eight-car suburban train, but it is not electrified. Points are manually operated, and signals are controlled from Homebush Control Centre, so the siding can’t be moved to or from by the signaller. Drivers must proceed with caution if using the up track near the siding.
- The station is staffed every day from 6am to 10pm.

Services
- St Leonards is served by the Sydney Trains T1 North Shore line. Trains run toward Emu Plains or Richmond, with Wollstonecraft as the preceding station and Artarmon as the following station in the opposite direction.
- Some peak-hour Intercity services on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line also stop here, running toward Wyong or toward Central.

Bus connections
- Bus routes connect at St Leonards via several operators: Busways (eight routes) and CDC NSW (two routes during peak hours), plus two routes run by Keolis Downer Northern Beaches. The station is also served by two NightRide routes at night.

Passenger numbers
- In 2023, about 7.6 million passengers used St Leonards station (roughly 20,800 per day).
