Siona Benjamin: Indian-American artist
Siona Benjamin (born December 11, 1960) is an Indian-American artist who grew up in Mumbai, India, and now lives in the New York City area. Her art blends Indian miniature techniques with Jewish and Hindu imagery, as well as Sephardic icons, contemporary pop culture, and performance. Many of her figures are depicted in blue, a choice she uses to invite viewers to rethink identity and belonging.
