Singapore's national under-21 football team, known as the Young Lions, represents Singapore in international under-21 football. The team is run by the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and competes in AFC and AFF competitions. Home matches are played at Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore. In 2016, FAS announced Fandi Ahmad as the head coach for the youth teams, to prepare players for the 2018 Asian Games, the 2019 and 2021 SEA Games, and the 2020 Olympics. He would coach players aged 19 to 23 and report to FAS technical director Michel Sablon, with a possible three-year contract extension in 2019 if both sides were happy with progress. Players were named for a friendly against Albirex Niigata (S) on 24 September 2022, and other players have been called up to the Singapore squad in the last 36 months.
