Sheptytskyi urban hromada
Sheptytskyi urban hromada is a municipality in western Ukraine, located in Lviv Oblast within Sheptytskyi Raion. Its administrative center is the city of Sheptytskyi. The hromada covers 228.1 square kilometers and has about 88,151 residents (2022). It includes 14 settlements: two cities (Sheptytskyi and Sosnivka), one rural settlement (Hirnyk), and 11 villages.
Historically, until July 18, 2020, Chervonohrad (renamed Sheptytskyi in 2024) had the status of a city of regional significance. As part of Ukraine’s reform that reduced Lviv Oblast raions to seven, Chervonohrad was merged into Chervonohrad Raion. Before the reform, Chervonohrad’s municipality also included Sosnivka (until 2019) and the urban-type settlement of Hirnyk. On November 26, 2025, the Cabinet approved renaming the Chervonohrad urban hromada to Sheptytskyi urban hromada, reflecting the earlier renaming of the city center to Sheptytskyi in 2024.
