Shashi Pratap Shahi, also known as S.P. Shahi, is an Indian academic, researcher, social activist, psephologist, and administrator. He studies Political Science and International Relations and has taught in Bihar since 1990. He currently serves as the Vice Chancellor of Magadh University.

His research covers India's foreign policy, democracy, the parliamentary system, subaltern development, ethnic violence, and education. In 2016, he presented a pioneering paper at Harvard University titled “Review and Exploration of Mechanism of Inclusive and Quality Education in Bihar.”

Previously, he worked at Nalanda College (Biharsharif), A.N. College Barh, and A.N. College Patna. These colleges are now part of Patliputra University, established in 2018. Under his leadership, A.N. College Patna earned NAAC accreditation of Grade A three times and a high CGPA of 3.27/4, and it received UGC’s CPE status three times. When he joined, the college’s third accreditation was overdue.

Before becoming Vice Chancellor of Magadh University, he prepared the Self Study Report for A.N. College Patna for its fourth NAAC accreditation, which resulted in NAAC A+ with a CGPA of 3.36/4. The college was also included in the DBT Star College Scheme. He has served on university bodies such as the Syndicate and NAAC, and as Principal he received the Best Principal Award from the Governor of Bihar. A.N. College Patna was also named Best College in Bihar by the Governor, and he has received other government and academic awards.
