Munchy box

A munchy box is a cheap takeaway meal from Scotland, especially Glasgow, and now sold across the UK and Ireland. It comes in a large pizza box and usually mixes different foods such as kebab meat, chicken tikka, samosas, pakoras, chow mein, naan, garlic bread, chips or fried rice, and sauce like curry. Some boxes include salad. A common variation is the salt-and-pepper chili munchy box. Not all versions are the same: some include pizza, chicken nuggets, mozzarella sticks, and coleslaw. There are even healthier-looking options, such as boxes with tortillas, salad, boiled eggs, sliced meat, vegetables, nachos, chicken mayo, cheese, or sometimes sushi.

The boxes are popular because of their large portions and low prices, but they are often high in fat and calories, which raises health concerns, especially for children. In Glasgow, authorities have studied munchy boxes and encouraged restaurants to use healthier ingredients and smaller portions.
