Eyed brown (Satyrodes eurydice) is a North American butterfly also known as the marsh eyed brown. There are two subspecies: Satyrodes eurydice eurydice (the nominate form) and Satyrodes eurydice fumosa (the smokey eyed brown).

Key facts:
- Wingspan: 38–48 mm
- One generation per year; adults fly from late June through August
- Larvae (caterpillars) feed on sedges (Carex), especially C. lacustris, C. atherodes, C. rostrata, and C. stricta
- Found in wetlands across North America, including places like Gatineau Park, Quebec, and Mer Bleue Conservation Area, Ottawa, Ontario
