HD 60532 c
HD 60532 c is an extrasolar planet about 84 light-years away in the Puppis constellation. It orbits the star HD 60532 and has a true mass of about 7.5 times that of Jupiter. The planet sits roughly 1.58 AU from its star and completes an orbit in about 607 days (1.66 years). Its orbit is nearly circular, with eccentricity about 0.038, ranging from 1.52 AU at closest approach (periastron) to 1.64 AU at farthest (apastron). The orbital plane is inclined by roughly 20 degrees. It was discovered on September 22, 2008, at La Silla Observatory using the HARPS spectrograph by Desort and colleagues. On the same day, the system’s other planet, HD 60532 b, was also found, in a 3:1 orbital resonance with c.
