Sara Wojdelko
Sara Nicole Wojdelko (born May 14, 2003) is an American soccer goalkeeper for the Washington Spirit in the NWSL. She played college soccer at Vanderbilt, earning second-team All-American honors in 2025.
Wojdelko was born in Park Ridge, Illinois, and raised in Northville, Michigan. She began playing goalkeeper at age 12 after joining the Michigan Hawks, an ECNL club. She attended Northville High School, where she played basketball and football as well.
At Vanderbilt, Wojdelko redshirted in 2021. In 2022 she won the starting job midway through the season, recording four clean sheets in 11 appearances and making key saves in the NCAA tournament, including six saves in a 1–0 win over Clemson. In 2023 she lost the starting role to Kate Devine and appeared in four games as Vanderbilt missed the SEC tournament. She regained the starting spot in 2024, and in the NCAA tournament delivered a standout 14-save performance against Florida State in the second round, then saved two penalties in the shootout to advance to the third round. She finished the year with seven clean sheets in 17 starts.
In 2025, her final season at Vanderbilt, she helped the Commodores win their fourth SEC tournament title, saving three penalties in a ten-round shootout against LSU in the final. Vanderbilt earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament and reached the quarterfinals, with Wojdelko saving a regulation penalty in a rematch with LSU. She finished the season leading the SEC with 58 saves, a 0.567 goals-against average, and 11 clean sheets in 23 games. She earned first-team All-SEC, second-team All-American, and was named the SEC Goalkeeper of the Year.
On January 9, 2026, the Washington Spirit signed Wojdelko to her first professional contract on a one-year deal. She is 5 feet 8 inches tall.
