Prosser is one of Tasmania’s fifteen Legislative Council divisions. It covers the south-east coast, including Sorell and the Tasman Peninsula, and is named after the Prosser River. The division was created in 2017 during redistribution and includes all of Glamorgan Spring Bay and Tasman municipalities, plus parts of the Northern Midlands, Southern Midlands, Brighton and Sorell. It is a predominantly rural, single‑member electorate.

During the 2016–17 redistribution, the nearby McIntyre seat temporarily had two MLCs (Greg Hall and Tania Rattray) until Hall’s term ended in 2018. A member for Prosser was elected in the 2018 periodic elections: Jane Howlett, who served until 2024. As of 2019, Prosser had about 23,800 electors and covered roughly 8,593 square kilometres. The division sits within the federal electorate of Lyons.
