Samuel Short (born 17 September 2003) is an Australian swimmer from Queensland who specialises in freestyle. He has represented Australia at the World Championships and the Commonwealth Games.

At the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Short won gold in the 1500 m freestyle and silver in the 400 m freestyle. He also won a silver medal as part of the Australian 4×200 m freestyle relay team at the 2022 World Championships in Budapest.

In 2022 he swam in the 1500 m freestyle at the World Aquatics Championships, qualifying for the final despite briefly finishing two laps early during the trials.

Short competed at the 2023 World Championships in Fukuoka, racing in the 400 m freestyle. His personal bests are 3:40.68 for the 400 m freestyle (the seventh-fastest time in history) and 7:37.76 for the 800 m freestyle (Australian and Commonwealth record). He is listed to compete in the 2025 World Championships in Singapore in the 400 m freestyle.
