Sam Perry (rugby league)
Samuel Oakley Perry (31 January 1887 – 12 May 1950) was a New Zealand rugby league footballer who played in the 1910s and 1920s. He played as a prop and in the second row for Western Suburbs and Annandale in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL).
Born in Dunedin, Perry moved to Australia to pursue his rugby league career. He made his first-grade debut for Western Suburbs in 1910, Round 4 against Glebe at St Luke's Park, and played 11 games that season as the team finished last.
In 1912 he joined Annandale and became one of their longest-serving players, making 46 appearances for the club. Annandale struggled during Perry’s time there, finishing last in 1914 and going winless in 1920, which was their final year in the competition.
Perry also played two matches for Metropolis, the early NSW City representative side, in 1912.
Career totals: 70 first-grade appearances, 9 tries (27 points).
