Salvia macrosiphon
Salvia macrosiphon is a flowering plant in the mint family (Lamiaceae). It grows in Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Transcaucasia, and Turkey, usually along the edges of fields. It is a perennial herb with white flowers and ovate nutlets. It flowers in May and fruits from June onward.
It is similar to Salvia spinosa, but has narrower leaves and calyces, less-indurated and less-spiny fruiting calyces, and a longer corolla tube.
Synonyms include Salvia albifrons, Salvia cuspidatissima, Salvia kotschyi, Salvia macrosiphonia, and Salvia nachiczevanica.
