Sainte-Anne-sur-Vilaine
Sainte-Anne-sur-Vilaine is a small town in Brittany, in the Ille-et-Vilaine department of northwestern France. The river Chère forms its southern border and flows into the Vilaine, which forms its western border. The area covers 128.57 square kilometers, and about 1,035 people lived there in 2023, with a population density of around 36 inhabitants per square kilometer. The inhabitants are called saintanais. The mayor for 2020–2026 is Jean-Michel Gaudichon. The commune is part of the Redon arrondissement, the Bain-de-Bretagne canton, and the Bretagne Porte de Loire intercommunality. Elevation ranges from 2 to 85 meters. The château of Port de Roche is located in Sainte-Anne-sur-Vilaine. In regional languages it’s known as Saentt-Ann-sur-Vilaèyn (Gallo) or Santez-Anna-ar-Gwilen (Breton).
