Axel Thoma

Axel Thoma, born 5 September 1964, is a German football manager and former player who played as a forward. His playing career included VfB Stuttgart (1984–1985), FC Schaffhausen (1986–1992), FC Winterthur (1992–1993), and FC Singen (1993–1998).

After retiring as a player, he moved into coaching and club management. He worked with FC Wil 1900 as a youth coach (2007–2010), served as caretaker manager in 2009, and was head coach from 2010 to 2014. He was the director of sports at Grasshoppers from 2014 to 2015. In 2016 he joined FC Schaffhausen, and from 2018 to 2019 he was the executive director there. He is 1.80 meters tall.
