SMK Taman Tun Dr. Ismail
SMK Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (SMK TTDI) is a government-aided non-boarding secondary school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It sits on Jalan Leong Yew Koh in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, a suburb that developed from a plantation starting in 1973. The school was established on 18 August 1980 and carries the motto “Usaha Untuk Kejayaan” (Effort for Success). Its colors are blue, red, white and yellow, and the student body is about 1,250 students from Form 1 to Form 5. The principal is Encik Mohd Haizir Bin Mohd Salleh.
Curriculum and exams:
- The school follows Malaysia’s national curriculum. In lower secondary (Form 1–3) students study nine subjects. From Form 4–5, students choose streams (Pure Science or Arts) and continue with core and elective subjects, including compulsory subjects like Technology Design or Basic CS.
- Enrollment is now based on the School-Based Assessment (PBS); in the past it relied on UPSR results.
- Students sit for the SPM examination at the end of Form 5.
Campus and facilities:
- SMK TTDI has six blocks named after solar system objects: Matahari, Zuhrah, Bumi, Marikh, Neptun, and Utarid, all connected by skywalks.
- There are three gates: Gate A (main entrance), Gate B, and Gate C (restricted).
- The Main Hall is in Neptun; the Open Hall is in Zuhrah. There is a surau named Surah Ahmadiah near the court, and the canteen is on the Matahari block.
- The school field is about 7,500 square meters, used for sports and Physical Education.
Other details:
- The school anthem, Lagu Rasmi Sekolah, was written by Mahzan Manan with music by Malik.
- In 2025, sidewalks between Gate A and Gate B were roofed in a project funded by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
