SLTC Research University
Sri Lanka Technology Campus (SLTC) is a private university in Sri Lanka, established in 2015 as a subsidiary of Sri Lanka Telecom. It runs a 42-acre residential campus in Padukka (the former Satellite Station) and a city campus at TRACE Expert City in Colombo. SLTC offers engineering degree programs in electronics, telecommunications, power systems, civil, and computing, with degrees recognized by Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education. It is the country’s first corporate-funded, fully residential private research university. In 2017, the Ministry of Higher Education and Highways gazetted SLTC as a degree-awarding institution, enabling BSc Engineering degrees in power, electronics, ICT, civil and telecommunications engineering. In 2021, Sri Lanka Telecom sold the university to Tempest Two Ltd, a joint venture between Capital Alliance and Insite Holdings. The university has about 300 academic staff and 600 total staff, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Chandrika N Wijeyaratne. Website: sltc.ac.lk.
