Romancia, also called Dragon Slayer Jr., is a simple action-adventure game by Nihon Falcom. It’s the third Dragon Slayer game, after Xanadu, and it’s brighter and easier than the others. You play as Prince Fan Freddy, aiming to rescue Princess Selina from the Kingdom of Azorba within 30 minutes. Move with the arrow keys and attack with a button. There are almost no character stats or customization, and the game mostly uses two screens with a few small areas. If time runs out, you have to start over. In the MSX version, there’s a hidden mode to play as Princess Serina. A Dragon Slayer sword is a key weapon. The game is part of the Dragon Slayer series, which also includes Legacy of the Wizard, Xanadu, and Sorcerian. Music was contributed by Yuzo Koshiro. It first released in 1986 for PC-8801, PC-9801, MSX, and X1; a Famicom version followed, with a Windows remake in 1999. The 2014 PC-88 release came with Sorcerian on EGG. Famitsu gave it 19/40, noting its cute look but tough difficulty and lack of guidance.
