Rocca Bernauda

Rocca Bernauda, also known as Roche Bernaude in French, is a mountain in the Alps standing 3,222 meters (10,571 feet) high. It is part of the Cottian Alps, located near Bardonecchia on the France–Italy border, between the Hautes-Alpes region in France and the Turin area in Italy.

It is the westernmost point of Italy since Valle Stretta was ceded at the Paris Peace Treaties of 1947.

Geographically, the mountain sits between the Susa Valley, the Durance Valley, and the Maurienne Valley, near the Arc River.

Geology-wise, the peak is mainly made of quartzite and gneiss rocks.

Rocca Bernauda is part of the Alpine mountains above 3,000 meters.
