Robert Montgomerie of Hessilhead (c. 1530–1609) was a Scottish church leader after the Reformation. He served as the Protestant Archbishop of Glasgow from 1581 to 1588. He was the third son of Hugh Montgomerie of Hessilhead and Margaret Houston of Houston, and his brother was the poet Alexander Montgomerie. He studied at Glasgow University and earned a Master of Arts degree. At the first General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, he was recognised as a capable preacher and began serving in several churches: Cupar (1562–1567), Dunblane (1567–1572), and Stirling (1572–1581). In 1581 he became Archbishop of Glasgow, following James Boyd of Trochrig. In 1588 he was succeeded by William Erskine. He also served as minister of Symington from 1587 to 1589 and then moved to Stewarton. He handed his duties at Stewarton to his son-in-law in 1607. He was archdeacon of Argyll during this period. He died in Stewarton on 25 March 1609. He was married to Beatrice Jamieson and had several children.
