Rhodeus albomarginatus
Rhodeus albomarginatus is a small freshwater ray-finned fish in the bitterling group. It is found only in China, in the Lvjiang River, part of the Yangtze River drainage. Like other bitterlings, it uses a freshwater mussel, Ptychorhynchus murinum, as its host for spawning. It belongs to the genus Rhodeus and the family Acheilognathidae, and it was described in 2014 by F. Li and Arai. The species is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List (IUCN 3.1), meaning it faces a high risk of extinction in the wild.
