Reggie (TV series)
Reggie is an American sitcom that aired on ABC in 1983. It is based on the British series The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin. The show follows middle-aged Reggie Potter as he worries about work and home life while having fantasies about a coworker. It stars Richard Mulligan, Dianne Kay, and Jean Smart. The opening theme, The Real Me, is performed by Mulligan.
Reggie ran for one season with six episodes, from August 2 to September 1, 1983. The first episode aired on Tuesday, August 2 at 9:30 p.m., with the remaining episodes shown on Thursday nights at 9:00 p.m. Critics gave mixed reviews. John Corry of The New York Times said the series has its moments and that the midlife-crisis premise could work for a comedy, but noted Mulligan played Reggie in a manner similar to his Soap character and described the show as uneven—often funny, but not cohesive.
